Labeling / Identification

Dangerous Goods are divided into nine different hazard classes

Class 1: Explosives

Class 2: Gases

Class 3: Flammable Liquids

Class 4: Flammable Solids; Substances liable to spontaneous combustion;
Substances which, in contact with water, emit flammable gases

Class 5: Oxidizing Substances and Organic Peroxide

Class 6: Toxic and Infectious Substances

Class 7: Radioactive Materials

Class 8: Corrosives

Class 9: Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods

Except for class 3/7/8/9, the other hazard classes include the divisions,
indicated by a second figure (e.g.: Division 4.1). Hazard class 1 is subdivided
into different compatibility groups, indicated by a letter (e.g.: 1.4 S).
According to the sequence of hazard classes, the IATA Air Imp codes of
dangerous goods and corresponding labels are shown on the following pages.
