Southwest's 34 dropped routes revealed (but 58 new routes and bigger 737-800s mean seat capacity up +3% this summer)
After our extremely popular analysis last week of which routes easyJet has dropped for this summer, this week we take a look at legendary Southwest Airlines of the US. It has dropped routes this summer from 39 airports with Orlando and Philadelphia hardest hit. But ASKs are still up 5%.

New airline routes launched (7 – 13 May 2013)
While the majority of Europe's airlines and airports were living the highlife in Budapest, and doing some valuable networking as well, a total of 46 new services were being launched around the world. Highlights include SWISS' return to Singapore with services from Zürich, as well as Air China's new venture in the opposite direction – from Beijing to Geneva.

Seoul Incheon might not be the biggest Asian airport, but with annual growth triple the size of Beijing Airport's in 2012, it is one to keep an eye on. American Airlines' new service from Dallas/Fort Worth, launched last week, only confirms the airport's appeal for international traffic, which accounts for 98% of all traffic at the airport.
